President William Ruto has conveyed his condolences to People’s Liberation Party (PLP) leader Martha Karua following the passing of her father, Mwalimu Jackson Karua.
In a official statement, the Head of State expressed deep sadness over the loss, recognizing the patriarch's dedicated service to the nation as an educator.
"I have received with deep sorrow the news of the passing of Mwalimu Jackson Karua, father of Martha Karua," President Ruto stated. "Mwalimu Karua devoted his life to teaching and service, touching generations through his work and leaving a lasting impact on many lives."
President Ruto assured the family of the nation's support and prayers as they navigate the loss of their patriarch.
"We join Martha, the Karua family, relatives and friends in mourning this loss and honouring a life of service," he added. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. May God grant them strength and comfort, and may the soul of Mwalimu Jackson Karua rest in eternal peace."
The veteran educator passed away shortly after a visit from his children at his family home in Kirinyaga County, during which they gathered to spend time together.
Leaders from across the political spectrum have since joined the President in sending messages of sympathy and solidarity to the Karua family.
